I'm a really big Atreyu fan, and have been for a long time, and I believe that this album was amazing!
Yes, it was a very different sound, but it's still really good!

I didnt like Atreyu until this album came out, so they succeeded in getting some new fans. Normal people who like straight forward hard rocking riffs with intelligible vocals will appreciate this album, while the freaks who just like to hear idiotic screaming will be disappointed. (i like to call it sh!t metal)
Maybe they decided to write songs that would appeal to people who can actually afford to go buy thier albums.

by the way, bands can and should evolve over time, lest they put out exactly the same album every time. Usually its for the worse (i.e. Metallica, Aerosmith, Bon jovi...) but I think Atreyu hit a homerun with this album.

Thanks for the appreciation! I only wish I had published this before Stetson University's free (for students) concert that semester... people in the audience did not know how to handle themselves.

This is great. People think I am crazy when I talk about rock concert etiquette but it is real! We feel you here in Utah. Good list.

I actually agree with Jon up there. I actually see the art in this album. It's something Varkatzas had a passion for and wanted to do. Sure the record company may have had a minimal influence but shit can you blame them for it, its their job. I do think a couple and I mean a couple, of songs went bad but what do you want? It's inevitable. Was suicide notes completely perfect? i think it contains some of their most beautiful work yet and i hope the mature and go back to their roots as well. If you're a true fan you appreciate Lead Sails.

You were honestly surprised at the reaction you got for that shirt? Stetson is a rich bitch school and if you haven't realized that yet it will surely become painfully obvious by the time you graduate. I promise.

On the gay marriage bit, well, there is a fundamental flaw there which sort of quagmires the entire debate: Religion and Politics should not be intertwined. And yet, here we see ample legislation on marriage gay or not, simply because of tax breaks and other partnership benefits if nothing else.

Should the state impose legislation governing how a religion conducts itself? Not really save cases where the religion infringes on natural rights outlined in the constitution, therefore gay marriage should neither be outlawed nor endorsed by the government. Marriage is a religious institution on which the government should have no say. But then it comes with legal ramifications, so what now?

Well then I suppose it is a democracy and we get to more or less make our rules. If an area is made up of mostly the type of christian that sees homosexuality as a sin, then outlaw gay marriage.

As for the legal aspect, why should there be hindrance to a gay couple receiving the same legal benefits as a straight couple? Here's an idea: Civil Union. If they don't like the terminology then take it up with the church, not the state.

I'm afraid that when it comes to gay marriage, if you think you're championing gay rights you are mistaken. What you are actually doing is fighting a group of people's interpretation of the bible. Good luck with that. I hear the Jews used to nail people to crosses for that sort of thing.

The album had a couple of catchy tune but i think i give it a 2 out of five, they don't nessissarly have to go extream hardcore like suicide notes but make another album like a death grip on yesterday by far there best. It was mixxed perfectly with the screams and singing. Very dissiapointed in you guys
